Iran, Turkmenistan stress expansion of co-op in electricity, water sectors
TEHRAN- Iranian Energy Minister Ali-Akbar Mehrabian and Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedow met in Ashgabat on Wednesday and stressed the need to expand cooperation in the electricity and water sectors between the two countries.
As reported by the Iranian Energy Ministry’s news portal, Paven, the two sides also discussed the extension of the existing bilateral agreements in the mentioned sectors.
The resumption of electricity exchange between the two countries, the possibility of Turkmenistan's electricity transit, the development of cooperation in the field of electricity, dredging of the Harirud and Atrak rivers, and the interaction between Iran and Turkmenistan in the preparation of the tripartite cooperation agreement between Iran, Turkmenistan, and Afghanistan regarding the Harirud river were among the main points of negotiation is the meeting of the Iranian energy minister and Turkmen president.
